If you’re getting too little sound from your iPhone alarm, it might be time to tweak its volume. Apple lets you do it in a couple different ways, whether you need to make sure you’re not waking up someone else or you just want a louder sound.
You can use the Ringer & Alerts section of Settings to adjust your iPhone’s alarm volume. Or, you can use your iPhone’s volume buttons to fine-tune it.
Settings
If your alarm volume on an iPhone is too low or jarring, it’s time to adjust. You can do so easily with just a few simple steps.
To make your iPhone alarm sound louder, open the Settings app and scroll a bit until you locate the sounds & haptics section. There, you’ll find the Ringer and Alerts volume slider.
Drag this slider to a higher level and it’ll increase the volume for your iPhone alarm. You can also set a different tone that will play when the alarm goes off.
Another way to adjust the alarm volume is using the volume buttons on your iPhone. To do this, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics and enable Change with Buttons.
Sounds & Haptics
Apple’s alarm system is designed to help you wake up at the right time. But sometimes, the default setting is too quiet or too loud for your liking.
One way to increase the volume on an iPhone is to change the ringer and alert volume from Settings > Sounds & Haptics. Here, you’ll find a slider that controls both the ringer and alarm volume.
Another option is to use the physical volume buttons on your iPhone. Just make sure that the “Change with Buttons” toggle is enabled in the Sounds & Haptics section.
If your alarm is still too quiet, try using a different sound or connect a Bluetooth speaker. You can also buy and download new tones from the Tone Store.
Change with Buttons
If you’re having trouble waking up in the morning, you can change your iPhone’s alarm volume. You can either use the Ringer and Alerts slider in Settings or press your phone’s volume buttons to adjust your alarm sound.
The first step to change your alarm volume on an iPhone is to open the Settings app and navigate to Sound & Haptics. Once there, tap Ringer and Alerts and then drag the Ringer and Alerts volume slider all the way to the right.
Next, you can use the Change with Buttons toggle to control your ringer and alarm volume using the volume buttons on your iPhone. Enabling this setting allows you to change the ringer and alarm volume with your volume buttons when you’re not on a call or playing media, but it doesn’t allow you to change your phone’s media volume without unlocking it.
Ringer & Alerts
If you want to set a louder alarm, you can do it through the settings on your iPhone. To do this, first open the Settings app and then tap Sound & Haptics.
The Ringer and Alerts section of Sounds & Haptics has a slider where you can adjust the volume of your alarm. Drag this to the left for a quieter alarm or right for a louder one.
This is a good way to fine-tune the volume for your alarm, especially if you don’t want to disturb your partner. You can also change the alarm’s tone.
You can even make it change based on the room’s noise level, or adjust it to wake you up at sunrise.
However, if you’re still having problems, it could be that Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch affect your alarm’s sound. You can’t control the alarm volume with these switches, but you can enable “Change with Buttons” in Settings and use the physical buttons to adjust it.
