Gwen Stacy is one of the coolest characters in Spider-Man’s multiverse, and kids will love dressing up as her for Halloween. Hailee Steinfeld voices the character in the Into, Across, and Beyond Spider-Man movies as well as the upcoming Spider-Woman spin-off film.
Gwendolyne Maxine “Gwen” Stacy first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) love interest and daughter of Police Chief George Stacy. She also appears as a supporting character in Miles Morales’ (Shameik Moore) 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Known as Ghost-Spider, Spider-Woman, or simply Spider-Gwen, Gwen uses her web-slinging skills to fight crime and help other heroes like the Earth-65 versions of Captain America (Samantha Wilson), Iron Man (Frank Castle), and Susan Storm (Rio Jordan). She’s even joined by the vampiric Morlun from her universe in an effort to save all of the universes from the Inheritors.
While Gwen doesn’t have an original costume, she uses a unique version of Spider-Man’s suit that looks different from the one on the wall in her home world. Her suit features white gloves and boots, yellow legs, a red section on her torso that exposes her hair, and a classic spider logo on her forehead. She also has a specialized teleportation device that helps her travel through the multiverse.
Comic book writer and artist Jason Latour created Gwen’s recognizable look for Marvel’s 2014 Spider-Verse crossover, Edge of Spider-Verse, and subsequent 2015 series, Spider-Gwen. Latour recently tweeted out a detailed explanation of how he came up with the suit’s design. Gwen Stacy costume
